| bitterness has no place with love.
it is not godly.
may.6.07
God's word says to bless those who curse you, bless and do not curse. (romans)
mercy and forgiveness.
Christ told His Father to forgive the people who mocked him and spit on
him, and cursed him, and beat him and tore him, and then crucified
him. he thought about them and loved them. He loves them.
(various gospels)
we are called to love mercy. we are to be gentle and
generous. we are told that love covers a multitude of sins. (1
peter 4:8, 1 peter 5:20) this is because of the love of God,
which does not fail. (1 cor 13:8) the love of people is corrupt
and imperfect. it fails. it is easily swayed. never
trust in the love of man. only in the love of God.
what is bitterness: it is anger, when held too closely to the
heart of a man. man's anger is not righteous, only foolish.
Only God's anger is right. (james 1) and we all deserve to fall
under the wrath of His anger.
we are to follow the example of christ, who washed the feet of his
disciples. luke 13. he knew judas would betray him, and Jesus
still washed even his feet.
King David yelled at God, he called for the destruction of his
enemies. so many people justifiy their anger with his
example. there are some problems with that, often... in some
cases, they are right to cite him, but in the majority of cases, they
fail to see the whole picture. first, David never stayed angry,
he usually ended the angry psalms praising God. humbling himself,
recognizing God's righteousness, or asking for the Mercy of God.
second, david called for the destruciton of his ememies. who were
his enemies? they were the oppressors of the nation of israel, or
people who opposed david's kingdom, which God established. who
are our enemies? our enemies are not flesh and blood, rather,
they are the powers and principalities of this dark world (ephesians
6:12) therefore, no human being, of themself is an enemy of
ours. and when a person is being used by the liar, this person is
a slave of darkness, as in need of mercy, gentleness, and salvation as
ourselves. the only people who are our enemies are those who have
knowingly commited themseves to hell, and i contend that no person has,
who has not been blinded and decieved. and they are more in need of
God's love than any of the rest of us.
and another thing:
when God says to treat someone like an unbeleiver, when they do not
respond to correction, consider how we are to treat unbelivers.
are we not to love them, as christ loved us, even to the point of
death, even while we still rejected Him? (1 john 1)
this is enough typing for now.
until later.

| There is something
I was sitting and thinking About voilence and fear And i thank God that He made me. That he put me here To see His character His mercy and grace.
It might sound simple, Or silly to say that God allowed violence and difficulty To show to us His character. Everyone explains away pain that way.
But it is more than that.
How would He excercise His mercy If there was no one upon whom He might HAVE mercy.
If we were all perfect If we were spotless and without blemish, Then He would be obligated to love us, i think But we had that. And still invited sin By this we become undeserving. Wretched
We are each outside of his Mercy Outside of life.
Therefore, It is demonstrated to the entire creation His mercy.
God. Righteous, Holy God Makes us new creations.
If we were perfect, There would be no demonstration of the power of God To the whole of creation.
So, in pain There is joy. Joy that through each moment, In abundance of good, And in times which hurt, Joy that by it, God reaveals his goodness to creation. Not by a contrast. But rather, by a demonstration of power, of mercy, and finally, of grace.
Grace, going beyond simply redeeming us from death. Going beyond this, and giving to me, to you, A profound gift. Whole life.
Something which we are not born into A chance to be born over, Not into a family with no inheritence, One that will leave me with no currency when i am asked for an accounting of my life, and payment for the penalty of my sinfulness, A chance to be born a second time into a family Of rich inheritence.
And the chance to live in the home that He is making for the children of His inheritence. In a land flowing with milk and honey A land with no hunger, injustice, or death.
The land for which i was originally designed for. And for which my heart longs.

yesterday... i got a bunch of my work done, but not exactly the work that i had planned on completeing. (studio)
so sad.
i at least got all my reading done. so now, i must finish mt studio work before my day can go on. and there are so many other more wonderful things to do than to sit around shuffling james bond clips around.
so sad.
but that is ok.
i think that i will get that done, and then do all the more wonderful things today.
